TRECCIA AL LATTE - MILK BRAIDS

Eccole!

50 gr burro
20 gr di lievito di birra
60 gr di zucchero
550 gr di farina 0
un pizzico di sale

Per decorare:
granella di zucchero
un tuorlo

Here they are! My beautiful and tasty milk braids! This morning when I woke up I found two round and very well swollen dough blocks waiting for me. They have been rising all night  and I must say it has been very easy and funny to finish the job. I was afraid the dough could get hard...even worse deflated. Unlike that, I got great satisfaction.
I can surely suggest to do like I did namely prepare the dough the evening before and then leave it all night long to double it size. So you can eventually finish the braid with much relax and no stress :) and you can use the time left to play with the kids.
By the way, I had a very special assistant this morning :) Chef Massimiliano

Ingredients:
This soft cake is great for kids as well as for parents who are looking for a light cake. It is simply made of milk, little butter and little sugar! For those who prefers more sugar (like my husband) I suggest to add some more sugar to the original version (from 60 gr to 80 gr). If you don't like very much the brewer's yeast flavour maybe you can reduce the quantity, although you can still feel it.

300 ml of nonfat milk
50 gr of butter
20 gr of brewer's yeast
60 gr of sugar
550 gr of flower 0 ( should be pastry flower)
a small amount of salt

To decor:
bits of  sugar
one yolk
